UML central committee member Jeevan Ram Shrestha is contesting the parliamentary elections for the Kathmandu-7 seat. During the second CA elections, he was defeated by the Nepali Congress' Nabindra Raj Joshi.

Shresthat is also the Nepal Olympic Committee's chairman.
