Nepali Congress Central Committee member Ambika Basnet is contesting parliamentary elections for the second time from Kathmandu-3. During the previous elections, she lost to then UML leader President Bidya Devi Bhandari. Her contest this time is with the UML's district unit chief Krishna Rai. Basnet is the sitting Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
